In collaboration with UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering and Haas School of Business, the AMENA Center for Entrepreneurship and Development enables the broader Middle East region to develop the requisite human resources in advanced technologies and entrepreneurship to embark on market-oriented innovation. The center promotes product and market development as well as the establishment of startup companies that can debut on the regional and global markets and achieve successful exit strategies.

Offerings and Services

We design, develop, and establish innovation centers fostering project-based training and market-oriented innovation and spawn startups that go on to become scaleups.

We also promote human capital development through convening entrepreneurship and innovation boot camps, youth development programs, and short-term certificate courses and internships.

In addition, we serve as an advisory outlet and academic think tank by bringing local needs/issues to the attention of UC Berkeley experts, who offer solutions for their resolution. Participating Berkeley experts devise and develop imaginative solutions to pressing industry, social, economic, educational, managerial, and environmental challenges.

Our Mission

The mission of the AMENA Center is to leverage UC Berkeley’s unique strengths as a leading global research and teaching university to make a solid contribution to the advancement of the AMENA region’s technological and innovative capabilities and the alleviation of its skills, entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, and gender gaps.
