AMENA Center Welcomes Professor Ibrokhim Y. Abdurakhmonov to Its Advisory Council
The AMENA Center is honored to welcome H.E. Professor Ibrokhim Y. Abdurakhmonov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as the newest member of its Advisory Council. A leading pioneer in cotton genomics and agricultural biotechnology, Professor Abdurakhmonov has held a succession of senior government posts in Uzbekistan while earning international recognition, including the TWAS Prize, the UNESCO–Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences, and the World Food Prize Foundation’s 2026 Top Agri-food Pioneer honor. His guidance will be a valuable asset as AMENA expands its work in Central Asia.
